Assessment

The COPALCDigital Program Associate will adminster a pre-course survey to enrolled students at the beginning of each course. This survey helps gauge students' comfort and experience levels with technology, digital tools, and research.

At the close of each COPLACDigital course, the Program Associate will administer a post-course survey to each student, again focusing on comfort and experience levels with technology, as well as their overall course experience. Data from this post-course survey will not be released on an individual course basis until the final report to the Mellon Foundation has been submitted. At that time, faculty members may request to see the post-course survey data for their course only.

Data from these surveys will be used for reporting back to the Mellon Foundation about the efficacy of COPLACDigital, particularly in the context of building capacity for digital liberal arts projects and improving digital fluency.

If desired, COPLACDigital faculty members can request course evaluations from their students. The COPLACDigital Program Associate will administer these evaluations to students at the end of a course, anonymize the responses, and send the evaluations to the faculty member and the faculty member's department chair.

The default course evaluation form can be found here. Faculty may request changes, additions, etc. to the form, but they MUST communicate these requests to the Program Associate.

These course evaluations will not be used by COPLACDigital—they are for the use of faculty members only.
